Son of Oberon and Paulette

A blond youth dressed all in black sits cross-legged atop a rock, his head turned as if to regard someone just ton one side. A light, well-trimmed moustache and beard frame his curved mouth, and an ornate rapier lies bare across his lap.

Michael was the first child born to Oberon and his last Queen, Paulette. He lived, for the royal family, a short life: a rogue to the core, he disregarded small things like property rights and marriage vows. That in itself did not put him particularly apart from his brothers. His choice of targets and tendency to flaunt them did. His death occurred at the age of merely forty-five, in a duel with the ambassador of the Golden Circle realm of Myrsu. The informality of the duel, which occurred after the ambassador discovered Michael in a delicate situation with the ambassador's own wife, was overlooked for diplomatic reasons.

In the mythology surrounding the royals' Trumps and the Tarot in Amber, Michael is frequently associated with the Lovers. The situation, decorum, and partner depicted upon the card varies wildly, but he is generally shown in a garden in the company of a woman. Very rarely are there more than two figures. Nudity, however, is frequent.
