Uncanny golden eyes mark Eliska's face apart, though his blue-black hair and the shape of his features are common to all his siblings. His hands are ringed rather than strong; he bears staff instead of sword, wood polished dark and banded with black iron. He wears white and black, stark, and his cloak is lined in pale-blue and clasped with raw red-gold amber, and a leatherbound book lies open upon his lap.

Eliska was the elder by forty minutes of Faiella's twins, and he and Alaric were inseparable despite their wildly differing paths. Like the redheads after him, Eliska learned secrets mystic and arcane at the knee of Oberon's court magician, and it is said that he had as much or more command of those arts as Fiona. He died with Alaric in a rockfall several centuries ago. Their corpses were retrieved and brought home to Amber for burial.

In the mythology surrounding the royals' Trumps and the Tarot in Amber, Eliska is frequently depicted as the Hanged Man: suspended upside-down by an ankle, his fingertips not touching the ground beneath him, but his face and eyes peculiarly calm.
